Oil painting by Jai

Art is in the eyes of the one that looks, feels and sees it. Art is life, it is the sound of the brush sweeping against a canvas. Art is listening to your soul and turning it into a masterpiece to share with others and to give others the ability to interpret a piece for themselves.

Art can be as simple as the placement of a figure. It can also be very in-depth and thought provoking. For many art can touch us in ways that we may not of known were possible. Art brings people together for great discussion and debate. From the artist prospective: often we have a vision in our minds. As the piece is shaped and formed it is turned in to our own masterpiece.

A masterpiece that must be shared with others. It is amazing and satisfying to watch the eyes and reaction of the audience that views a piece. I like trying to read the audiences faces. As they try and figure out what my inspiration at a certain point in my painting was.

What provoked me to bring it to life in a painting. I too stand back and try to read a piece in the same way. In my own mind, wanting to know why the audience has chosen to stand in front of a particular piece. Seeing if they see a piece in the same way that I do. Or are the reactions from the audience opposit from what I gathered. Does it mean something deeper or different in the audiences mind. Has it touched them in a way that I myself never saw or even may have thought was possible.

All of the pieces I do are either oil or Acrylic on canvas. All of my pieces vary in size and style. I love to dip a brush into several colors and then lay it onto my canvas. To watch a painting take form right before me is magic. I’m not someone who looks for perfection in a piece. I think of each piece as a journey. In each journey, I take something from a piece I paint.

Enjoy it: Don’t ask me what was I thinking, see it your own way. Use your own imagination not mine.
